What data we collect

• Location: With your permission, we use your device’s location to show nearby restrooms and calculate distances. We do not store your location unless you explicitly add a restroom, in which case only the coordinates of the spot are saved.
• Contributions: When you add or edit a restroom, we store the restroom’s details (name, type, ratings, accessibility notes, fee, hours, etc.) and a pseudonymous alias if you provide one. These contributions are shared with the community.
• Usage analytics: We may collect anonymous usage data (such as page views and error logs) to improve Shytt Maps. This data does not include personally identifiable information.

What we do not collect

• We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number or other contact information.
• We do not store private door codes or access codes. Our backend redacts obvious keypad numbers from access notes.
• We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

How we use your data

Your location and contributions help us display the most relevant restrooms and maintain an up‑to‑date database. Anonymous analytics help us improve usability and performance. We use Cloudflare’s infrastructure to host our database (D1) and serverless API, which is subject to Cloudflare’s privacy policies.

Data retention & deletion

You can delete your local history and contributions stored on your device via the “Export/Import” tools or by clearing your browser data. If you wish to remove a restroom you added, please contact us via the support email in the App Store listing and include the spot details.
